NXP and VIS joint venture opens Singapore chip fab ahead of 2027 production

September 28, 2026

VisionPower Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, the joint venture between NXP and Vanguard International Semiconductor, marked the opening of its first 300mm wafer factory in Tampines, Singapore, on September 28.

Opening comes before volume production

NXP says construction is complete and the fab has entered risk production. Volume production is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027, rather than full commercial output.

The plant will support processes from 130nm to 40nm for mixed-signal, power-management, analog and interposer applications. Target markets include automotive, industrial, consumer electronics, mobile devices and high-performance computing.

Capacity will build over several years

The joint venture expects capacity to reach about 44,000 12-inch wafers per month by 2029 and anticipates creating roughly 1,600 jobs.
