Amazon Launches Alexa+ Early Access in India

September 16, 2026

Amazon began rolling out Alexa+ in India on September 16 through an Early Access programme, with invitations expected to reach customers over the following weeks.

Languages and access

Amazon says the assistant supports English, Hindi, and Hinglish, including switching languages within a sentence. More Indian languages are planned for 2027.

Customers can request access through Amazon’s Alexa+ registration page. Access is being introduced gradually rather than enabled for every customer at once.

Pricing after Early Access

  • Early Access is free.
  • Afterwards, Alexa+ is included for Prime plan members.
  • Prime Lite, Prime Shopping Edition, and non-Prime customers can subscribe for INR 2,000 per month.

Amazon says the paid standalone subscription will not automatically renew from Early Access.

Features and limits

The company describes conversational assistance for tasks such as schedules, shopping, music, and compatible smart-home controls. Browser access in India and some service integrations are listed as forthcoming.

Capabilities and future availability are based on Amazon’s announcement. This article is not a hands-on review of the Indian release.
