Google Meet Adds Conference Room and Location Details to Its Homepage

September 16, 2026

Google announced on September 16 that the Meet web homepage is adding conference-room and physical-location details to upcoming meeting cards.

What users will see

For meetings with multiple rooms, Meet compares room information with the user’s Google Calendar working location and prioritises the room in their building.

  • Configured building or campus links can open from a room listing.
  • Street-address locations link to Google Maps.
  • Current and soon-starting meetings show locations prominently; later meetings reveal them on hover.

Rollout dates

Google says the Rapid Release rollout started September 14. Scheduled Release rollout is due to begin September 28. Each rollout can take up to 15 days for visibility.

The feature is available to Google Workspace customers and Workspace Individual subscribers.

Settings and dependencies

Google lists no separate administrator or end-user switch for this feature. Room information comes from configured Workspace building and room resources, while local-room prioritisation uses the Calendar working location.

The announcement concerns information on the Meet homepage; it does not announce a change to room-booking permissions.
