How to Get Remote PC Help with Quick Assist in Windows 11

October 1, 2026

Quick Assist lets a trusted helper view your Windows 11 screen and, with your permission, control your PC.

Before you start

Both people need internet access and Quick Assist. The helper signs in when prompted; the person receiving help does not need to authenticate. Follow your organization’s support policy on managed devices.

Agree on the task with your helper and close private documents before sharing your screen.

Connect to your helper

  1. On both PCs, open Start, search for Quick Assist, and open it. You can also press Ctrl + Windows + Q.
  2. The helper selects Help someone, signs in if requested, and shares the six-digit code through your agreed communication channel.
  3. On your PC, enter it under Code from assistant and select Submit.
  4. Select Allow to share your screen. Confirm that your helper can see the window you want to troubleshoot.

Manage control and finish

The helper can request control separately. Approve it only if needed. Select Cancel control to revoke control; select Leave when finished.

Check the original problem yourself after the session ends. If Quick Assist installation is blocked on a work PC, contact your IT administrator.
