Tencent formally launched TenPayGo on September 24 as a payment app aimed at overseas visitors to China. Reports from the Shenzhen launch describe support for international cards, Apple Pay and selected overseas wallets at merchants using the Weixin Pay network.
A dedicated visitor app
ITmedia’s launch report says users can register with an email address and access payment functions through an app separate from WeChat. It reports iOS and Android versions, along with translation and travel-related functions.
Tencent’s Canadian App Store listing confirms an iPhone app from Tencent Technology (Shenzhen) Company Limited, supporting payments at Weixin Pay merchants and transaction-history review. It lists English and requires iOS 15 or later.
Formal launch follows earlier releases
The App Store version history reaches back to June 2026. September 24 is therefore the formal launch announcement, not the first evidence that the app was available.
The listing says additional transport and lifestyle services will arrive gradually. Coverage of the launch should not be read as a guarantee that every overseas card or wallet is supported.
For travellers, the practical question is whether their particular payment method works with the service and what charges apply. The free app listing does not establish that every payment is free of transaction or currency-conversion costs.
