SK hynix reported record third-quarter revenue and operating profit on October 28, as demand for AI infrastructure continued to support its memory business.
The results
Revenue reached KRW 104.6155 trillion and operating profit KRW 83.3338 trillion, up 32% and 38% respectively from the previous quarter. Net profit was KRW 39.7756 trillion, down 58% sequentially despite rising year over year. The preliminary consolidated figures remain subject to review.
Supply commitments extend into 2028
The company said agreements with 14 major customers cover more than half of its total production capacity for 2027 and 2028. It expects memory demand to exceed supply through 2030; that is management’s forecast, rather than an independently established outcome.
SK hynix also expects HBM4 to overtake HBM3E in shipment volume and revenue during the fourth quarter. The results point to strong AI-related demand, while the decline in sequential net profit shows that the headline records do not describe every earnings measure.
