Discord has outlined a staged rollout that will make eligible public-channel discussions in Discoverable Servers accessible through web pages and, potentially, search engines. Administrator controls began rolling out October 27.
Two different rollout dates
Channel Summaries will focus on discussions from November 16, 2026 onward. Channel Messages will begin appearing gradually from mid-December. Administrators can choose eligible public channels and control the two features separately.
Direct messages, private channels and channels restricted by roles are excluded. Discord says usernames and avatars will not accompany the web message presentation. Teen accounts are excluded and cannot opt in.
Canada’s default is different
The member-level discoverable-content setting is off by default in Canada, the EU/EEA, the UK, Brazil, Australia and South Korea. It is on by default in most other regions. The account setting applies across servers.
Turning it off affects future messages; messages posted while it was enabled can remain eligible. Deleting an individual message removes it from Discord’s web pages, but search-engine caches may retain copies. Server eligibility and member settings therefore both matter.
